COMMUNITY WORKERS FUND
Ebenezer Israel Community Workers serve new olim (Jewish immigrants to Israel) and the various agencies and individuals supporting them.
They visit Absorption Centres to distribute gifts to new olim and better understand the work of the Jewish Agency and its needs. They help strengthen relationships between the JA and Ebenezer supporters worldwide.
They visit residential schools, where Jewish youth from the nations come to spend their high school years, tasting Israeli life with a view towards Aliyah.
Their work also involves coming alongside Ukrainians and Russian-speaking Olim who ask for help in the Jerusalem area.
They go out to places where new olim gather, supporting them as they integrate into Israeli life, opening bank accounts, visiting medical centers, looking for accommodation.
Often, being a welcoming voice at the end of a telephone line is the support and encouragement needed amid the harshness of life in this unfamiliar land.
As more olim return to Israel, there will be a greater need for Ebenezer community workers fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and other languages.
